Goose Biot
Biots are the leading edge or the flight quills of large birds such as geese, turkeys and swans. Biots have a sharp triangular taper and are often used on nymph patterns such as the Prince Nymph, Golden stones and Evil Weevils. Biots are perfect for creating tails and wings on nymph patterns. The biots can also be used to imitate the spines on minnow patterns when tied along a dubbed shank. Smooth and segmented bodies can be made from biots by tying them in at the tip, and wrapping it forward. Soaking the biots before wrapping them will help prevent breakage.
