Jigged Prince Nymph
The Prince Nymph and its various variations are a staple trout fly pattern found in many fly boxes across the angling world. Doug Prince designed the pattern in the 1930's as a stonefly nymph for fishing faster waters. It also works well to imitate other insects such as caddis and mayfly nymphs. The Jigged Prince Nymph works well fished as a single fly, dropper or point fly on a tandem rigging.
Jeremy's Jigged Prince Nymph retains many of the original features including the iconic brown and white biots, a gold bead head, and the peacock thorax. Jeremy adds a reflective mylar body reinforced with wire teamed up with a highly effective jig hook. The peacock dubbing on the thorax will become buggier with use, making the fly even harder for trout to pass by.
