Sexy Walt's Worm Jigged Trout Fly
Walt's Worm, a renowned fly pattern for fishing Spring Creek in Pennsylvania, was originally created by angler and fly tyer Walt Young from State College. Over time, this pattern has proven effective not only on Spring Creek but also on other creeks and rivers across the continent. This gussied-up variation of this successful pattern is the Sexy Walt's Worm, which was developed by competition angler Loren Williams. Williams added a touch of flash, a hot spot, and made the pattern heavier with a tungsten bead for quicker sinking. The fly was dressed for targeting highly pressured fish, particularly in areas where the standard pattern is commonly used. The "sexy" version of the fly may also be more suitable for off-color water conditions.
We offer 3 versions of the Sexy Walt's Worm fly pattern. The lightest is our Dirty Yellow which features a silver tungsten bead with an orange hot spot. The Hare's Ear version has a red spot paired with a copper bead. Our darkest pattern is the Dark Olive matched with a gold tungsten bead and fluorescent pink hot spot.
